FINAL TECHNICAL MEETING AND FINAL EVENT
BUILD SEE
BUCHAREST, 19-20 November 2014
The National Institute for Research and Development in Environmental Protection (INCDPM) organised final technical meeting and final event of Build SEE project during 19th–20th of November 2014 at International Hotel, in Bucharest, Romania.
The first day of the meeting, 19th of November was dedicated to project partners responsible with outputs and deliverables who presented the results obtained on each working package.

The second day of the meeting consisted of the final event of the project that brought together researchers, academics, engineers, local and governmental authorities, stakeholders in order to address and discuss emerging environmental issues, scientific achievements, research challenges and international collaborations together with the project partners. The guest speakers proved their expertise through the projects presented during the meeting. Besides the final results obtained and the impact of green energy, energy efficiency, social housing and environmental urban planning during this project, the following issues regarding sustainable development in urban areas and the concept of urban planning were analyzed in terms of:
- Integrated assessment of environmental quality in residential areas (specialists from University of Bucharest);
- Sustainable dwelling proposals for the Romanian rural revival (PRISPA House project architects). The PRISPA House has been introduced as a best practice for the Romanian project partners.
- Strategic urban development in the South East Europe- a STATUS Perspective. The STATUS Project was presented, another project finaced by the South East Europe Transnational Cooperation Programme, whose results had an impact through jointly developing an approach that can help cities and regions in making integrated and sustainable urban agendas and place based strategies by participatory planning tools.

The partners involved in the project have actively participated at the presentations’ session, highlighting the following emerging issues in their regions:
- environmental urban management plan;
- housing policies innovation, urban planning and social mix;
- stimulative impact of BUILD SEE project on local development of urban and residential areas;
- activities in the field of green energy and energy efficiency, best practice collection by the winner of the Austrian climate protection award 2014-Weiz;
- energy efficiency renewal in social housing and reconstruction of the green spaces leading to social enterprises and creation of community gardens;
- a long term perspective of BUILD SEE project results in Croatia;
- energy efficient buildings in the SEE through novel ICT applications.
