The study contributes to meeting Romania’s reporting obligations to the European Environment Agency and the European Union as a result of the signing of the Final Act of the negotiations between the Romanian Government and the European Community approving the Agreement on Romania’s participation in the European Environment Agency and the European Network of Information and Observation of the Environment (EIONET).
In line with the current European approach, the annual report on the state of the environment should focus on the state of the environment, provide assessments of the current state of the environment, scenarios regarding its evolution, as well as the actions undertaken in our country and what needs to be done or can be done to improve it in the light of the EEA identified indicators. This report describes how environmental policies, trends in this field and the impact of the impact on Romania as close as possible to the European model are developing and evolving.
Through the study the necessary technical support was provided to the National Environmental Protection Agency and the Environmental Authorities in the elaboration of the Annual Report on the State of the Environment in Romania in order to inform the population and stakeholders about the quality of the environmental factors and the evolution trend of them, the synthesis of environmental data and information in Romania in the format requested by the European Environment Agency and which may form the basis for the preparation of the European Environmental State Report (SOER).
